2 • Training in the use of games for learning

Register for free

Ikigai regularly organizes free 1- to 2-hour video training sessions for its members on the use of the consortium's games and tools, and on gamification for teaching and mediation.

It is important to inform your staff about these training courses in order to be able to disseminate the use of the games: we therefore suggest that you send us the contact(s) responsible for this dissemination in your structure (in universities, this will typically be one or more members of the educational innovation unit).

The schedule of upcoming training courses is permanently available:

More in-depth training for your staff is also possible in person within your establishment, but will be subject to paid support.

3 • Circle 1 | CAS and LRS Connection

For higher education institutions, Ikigai offers: Connecting your authentication system to Ikigai's, to allow your students and staff to connect to the Ikigai portal and games via their institution login.

This will allow:

  • to students, to be able to associate the usage traces generated with them and to access student-specific services (personalized recommendations, individual dashboard, content editors on games that allow it, management of their profile and their network of friends),

  • staff to access game content customization tools and data visualization tables on the portal.

  • The installation of a Learning Record Store (LRS) and a pair of Data Processing Units (DPU) allowing the processing of your students' data in your establishment, which will collect traces of use of your students connected to the games with your establishment's authentication system.

If needed, your LRS and DPU can be set up on a sovereign European cloud by the Ikigai team. This option is chargeable as a service provided by the association to its members.

For these two fundamental projects for exploiting Ikigai tools to their full potential in your establishment, it is suggested to present the subject to your IT department, then to establish a link between your IT department and the Ikigai team.

4 • Circles 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9 | Access to game customization tools: transmission of account data and designation of an administrator

Members of Circles 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, and 9 can also access game content customization tools through an Ikigai account. To do this:

  • Access to interfaces for your staff: If your organization's professional email addresses use a domain name specific to your organization (for example, firstname.lastname@structurename.fr - as opposed to generic addresses such as @gmail.com or @hotmail.fr), the Ikigai team can ensure that any user creating an account with your organization's email address automatically obtains access rights to these editors. This is done automatically as soon as you join the consortium, but if you find that you do not yet have access to the editors, contact us and indicate the email suffix to use.

Appointing an administrator: If your organization does not have its own domain name, you must appoint an administrator for it, who will create an Ikigai account, to whom we can grant administration rights. These rights will then allow them to independently grant rights to all other members of your institution to access the tools, via a dedicated interface on the Ikigai website (accessible via the menu at the top right => “Roles”).

research. As this option has not yet been implemented systematically, please contact us to set it up in your specific case if you wish.

We invite you to consult the following section dedicated to teachers and staff to understand the offer available to them.

9 • Transmit information about Ikigai to the staff of your establishment

The Ikigai network implements a strong coupling with teachers and educational engineers to support gamification within partner establishments.
We therefore invite you to indicate to us the people to whom our announcements will be addressed so that communication is as effective as possible.
Below is the list of devices, you will find a standard email allowing the transmission of information to your staff.

To distribute all the new tools to your staff:

  • Send the welcome sheet to all your teachers and educational engineers

  • Distribute the Members' newsletter to staff in charge of setting up educational projects and who are likely to be involved in the consortium. This newsletter is sent quarterly to convey all the latest news about the Ikigai project, from new features on the portal to the work of the scientific council and calls for co-construction.

  • Distribute the Users newsletter to all your staff, primarily teachers and educational engineers, who will be using Ikigai games and tools in their fieldwork. This newsletter is sent quarterly. It focuses on new features accessible via the portal: games, tools, new features, etc.

  • Please share our future announcements by email with all your staff. We rely on you to share this information so that your staff can benefit from the resources offered by the Ikigai project. These announcements may concern new offers, events, or co-construction workshops.

  • Offer Ikigai's online training courses. They're free and allow you to quickly master Ikigai games and their content or level editors. A monthly email announcement is sent to supplement the communication. You can, of course, forward this email.

  • Integrate Ikiga i training into the training offer presented by your establishment.

1 Use games for learning

Using games for teaching and mediation is the heart of Ikigai's proposition.

List of games

All games are available on the ikigai.games portal.
The portal is accessible to everyone, teachers and students.
A catalog offers a summarized presentation of each game.

All content on the game page

To explore each game in detail, go to the portal's homepage and click on the game you're interested in: you'll access a detailed information sheet that will allow you to access the game, and present its educational objectives and implementation methods. Also check out the associated links to find an educational information sheet and other resources that will help you understand the game and get started quickly.

FIND ACCORDING TO YOUR NEEDS

Enter your keywords

At the top of the site is a search bar: enter keywords (for example, the name of your discipline) to display games that include these keywords in their disciplines or tags.

Filtre.jpg

FIND ACCORDING TO YOUR NEEDS

Search among the filters

Using filters, you can search for a game by discipline, keywords, language, genre, and platform. To do this, go to the filters located just above the game thumbnails in the catalog.

2 • Customize game content

Many games allow you to create your own content to make it available to your learners. This is particularly useful for games with simple and generic mechanics (quiz games, flashcards, etc.) that are accessible to almost all disciplines and levels: they are an excellent starting point for using games in your teaching!

You can access content editors from the Ikigai website.

To guide you in using the editor, each customizable game page offers a step-by-step tutorial (text and/or video).

In addition, free video training courses for quick learning are offered monthly on the games Masters Quiz!, Rank it and FlashCards by Ikigai.

You can check the full list of customizable games.

3 • Create your Ikigai account

To access the game content customization tools and other Ikigai tools (visualization of game usage data (available end of September 2024), etc.), it is necessary to have an account with Teacher status.

Your establishment already has the CAS connection

Click the “Login” button at the top right of the homepage. If your institution’s name appears in the list of connected institutions, simply click on it and log in via your institution’s login interface. Your Ikigai account will be automatically created with the same credentials.

Your establishment does not yet have the CAS connection

Click on the “Register” button at the top right of the homepage, and create an account using your institutional address (that of your university, school, laboratory, association, etc.) . This will be detected and will automatically receive the status Teacher.

Capture-d’écran-(5).jpg

Check that you have Teacher status

Once logged in, click on your name and “My Profile” at the top right of the homepage: under your name, you should see “Status: Teacher” and the name of your institution. If this is not the case, contact us to correct this quickly.

4 • Learn how to use games for teaching

Numerous free training courses and video events are offered to you throughout the year 2024-2025 around Ikigai solutions:

  • 2-hour training sessions on discovering and customizing our multidisciplinary tools:

  • A discovery of the entire Ikigai project thanks to the Ikigai Tour in 45 minutes flat;
